Evaluations on Pre production

First of all for my pre production i started with my initial ideas this was because i had to layout the basic idea for my film i did this by writing my idea on a word document i believed this was important because in the film industry the initial ideas is extremely important because its the first thing that should be shown at a film pitch as it shows potential investors the idea and plot of your film it also gives them a brief idea who could possibly be the target audience. I created a small paragraph of what my film is about and believed that this was successfully done as it gives the reader a brief view of my film and tells them the information that they need to know

After my initial ideas i done the proposal my proposal consisted of some lines describing what was important to the film such as the synopsis this is just another brief overview of the however this time i included what genre it was going to be and why i choose this genre i did this because i wanted to give the viewer a reason as to why i choose this genre and i also said that Martin Scorsese earlier films influenced me into doing a film in this genre i believe that my proposal was important and i am happy with the way it turned out in the end in my proposal i also included characters which again shows small hints at my idea i did this because i believe that the reader should get information on characters as it can help with decisions.

Then i did my Script for my script i used a program called celtx i did this because celtx is a good site to use when think of ideas as its free and it lets you practice your script writing skills for future use i like the way my script turned out because i managed to get my idea on the page better than i thought i would be able to and im quite happy with overall product script writing in master scene script is important because film production companies will not take a script if it not written in master scene as this is usually the way that films are typically written in the film business. My Script also gave me good understanding as to how i would be able to show my characters in the film which i am pleased with. I researched into the script writing in the movie business to get some ideas when I writing my own and I think that the extra research I did was more than helpful as i set my script out the way it would in a real film production and it was a good experience in the future for when I am writing some scripts.

After I did location scouting location scouting is important part of the pre production as it shows where and when you will be filming for my location scouting sheet i filled in the locations that i would be filming at because these are crucial to the shoot so you can show evidence of where you are going to be shooting and what days you need the location for if this isn't done correctly you could turn up at the wrong time for a shoot and have your time wasted because you got the times mixed up my location sheets were extremely effective because they helped me with my shoot and got things easy to know and when and i could shoot at them. I used location scout templates to complete this it was important in helping me make sure I filled the sheet in correctly and to the accuracy that it would look like in the film industry I believe that the location sheets went pretty smooth as I got it filled in the way I want it to.

Outline budget was next i made a diagram to make sure that it was neat set out correctly i listed the things i needed and how much they would cost and why they would cost this much the outline budget is really helpful in a movie environment because it helps everyone understand what the financial requirements are for the production and keeps people on track so they dont get  confused later on i am happy with the way outline budget turned out because it helped understand what i needed and how much it would cost if needed to be bough or borrowed. The template I used for outline was very helpful as it made things easier and set them out so I could just slot the things I needed in and fill it out accurately. The outline budget went well I had no complications with this it was straight forward and I'm happy with the way it turned out in the end 

Health and safety was next for health and safety i filled in sheets that were important to the pre production because health safety has to be done to insure the safety of your cast and crew and during filming i filled out the sheets and listed some potential risks and how to prevent them from happening they helped me because when it came to the filming i knew that i had to be cautious and i also knew how to prevent any accidents from happening i am pleased with my heath and safety sheets because they insured mine and my cats and crews safety during the production of my movie when i began shooting. 

Research was important when I was doing my pre production as I had looked up other pre production and went well for them and how I could prevent the things that went wrong for them happening to me like going over the time limit I had to analyse specific pre productions to help me I chose films like jaws and Jurassic park what went well with them and what went bad. I found out that during jaws the cameras got damaged and they were worried that they would have lost months worth of film the footage was saved however this set them back a little bit and it delayed the production which delayed finishing the film. I took these into account and applied there mistakes to try and prevent these things from happening in my film production and I believed that it helped a lot as I feel I learned a lot from previous film makers I think it particularly important to do this research as I realised that during a production not everything goes to plan and sometimes ideas have to change to make things work my research process went smoothly and I'm happy with it aswell as my final production.
